Swim Meet 101
- Swimmers are to mark that they are attending meets on the sign up calendar under Meets & Events on Swimtopia.
- Swimmers must sign up one week in advance for swim invitationals and two days before a home meet.
- Saturday invitationals have a $10 flat fee to swim. This can be paid by cash/check or on Swimtopia.
- At least one parent is expected to work the meets. Please let us know ahead of time if you are unable to help.
- Swimmer Meet Events (home meets) will be posted on the wall by the concession stand before the meet starts. Please write down events.
- On the results sheet, the top 3 times will be scored. If swimmer does not have a top 3 time, an X will be placed beside his/her name to indicate exhibition.
HOME MEETS:
- Start at 6:00 pm
- Swimmers and parents are to report at 5:00 to help set up and warm up
- Home team warm up at 5:15
- Each swimmer will receive a pink (girl) or blue (boy) slip letting them know what events they are swimming. Swimmers (or Parents) are responsible for keeping up with the labels.
- Swimmers are to wear team suit, swim cap, and goggles
- Swimmers are to stay in the bullpen between races
- If your child swims a relay, only one card will be issued. The first person swimming on that card will receive the card and be responsible for gathering their team.
AWAY MEETS:
- Start at 6:00 pm
- Warm ups are usually at 5:30 (will be announced)
- Each swimmer will receive a pink (girl) or blue (boy) slip letting them know what events they are swimming. Swimmers (or parents) are responsible for keeping up with slips.
- Swimmers are to wear team suit, swim cap, and goggles
- Report to designated area around pool
oMay set up tents etc.
INVITATIONAL MEETS (SATURDAY):
- Start at 9:00 am
- Meet Fee is required to attend (pay through swimtopia or cash/check before the meet)
- Warm up time will be announced before the meet
oThe closer in proximity to the invitational, the earlier the warm up time will be
- There will be a sign that says Harrisburg to let us know where we can set up our tents
- Each swimmer will receive a pink (girl) or blue (boy) slip letting them know what events they are swimming. Swimmers (or Parents) are responsible for keeping up with slips.
- These meets usually end by 1:00 or 2:00 pm
